ABSTRACT

Since publication of the 2000 UV Guidelines, Whitley Burchett & Associates has completed several performance validations of full-scale UV systems for water reuse. The purpose of these validations has been to evaluate system performance for either permitting of site specific UV systems or obtaining regulatory agency acceptance of a specific UV technology. This presentation explores three issues related to the performance validation of UV systems and their implications for system design and operation: 1) validating performance improvements, 2) standardizing performance validation results, and 3) applying performance validation results to system operation.
