ABSTRACT
UV disinfection is increasingly the
process of choice for recycled water applications. The 2003
NWRI UV guidelines provide a rigorous
framework for testing full-scale systems to demonstrate performance
based on pilot data. This presentation will discuss the UV
scale-up validation process performed at the El Dorado Irrigation
District Deer Creek Plant in 2006. The validation has been
accepted by DHS for full design capacity of the UV system.
The information presented will provide insight into the most
recent developments in implementation of UV disinfection for
recycled water, which should be valuable to those considering,
implementing, and navigating the approval process for UV disinfection
for recycled water.
